This turntable has been restored and completely rebuilt from the ground up. The original base was made from plywood and then covered in a simulated wood grain vinyl veneer. This vinyl has been removed and cherry real wood veneer has been applied to the original plywood base. The cherry veneer had three coats of cherry wood oil applied with two additional coats of low luster top coating. The end result makes this turntable a true one of a kind PL-12D II that looks like no other.
The entire top metal table assembly was taken apart, cleaned & lubricated, hand buffed and then re-assembled onto the top metal deck. The dust cover was power polished and looks brand new from just a few feet away. The table has a correctly sized belt and an Empire EZ II cartridge installed. The original factory coaxial cables have been retained as they are excellent factory cables that were used in the MK II model.
The turntable is in excellent cosmetic condition and operates flawlessly. There are a few surface marks on the dust cover that did not entirely polish out. This table will be professionally packaged and partially dis assembled. Minor re assembly will be required upon arrival. A copy of the owners manual that explains assembly and operation plus a Discwasher record cleaner are included. Thanks for looking!

- Apr 20, 2005 I've got a turntable project going right now - a buddy of mine has an old Pioneer PL-12 turntable that he dug out of storage. So far, I've replaced the headshell (hooridly rewired, melt marks), cartridge and belt. I got the cartridge aligned (dug out the old Geo-Disc from MoFi), arm got balanced, tracking force and anti-skate set.

Anyone wishing to transfer their vinyl collection to the computer or CD should consider getting a Pioneer PL-12D and a pre-amplifier with moving magnet input and a tape/cassette output to the computer.
